An Economic History of the 20th century
Economist and economic historian Bradford Delong has a new book coming out called Slouching Towards Utopia: An Economic History of the Twentieth Century. Recently, Delong authored a blog post that overviews the main themes of his new book. Delong’s primary argument is that “that 1870 and its triple—the coming of globalization, of the industrial research lab, and the modern corporation—in a strong and powerful sense marked the end of all previous human history.” The whole blog post is worth reading.
